Erin Nesbit joined the Mississippi State Office of Public Affairs in 2014. As the Social Media Specialist, Erin develops and implements marketing initiatives that support the university's growth, recruitment, and brand procurement efforts. Her responsibilities include the management of all of the Mississippi State social media platforms as well as monitoring the university's overall marketing plan.
She holds both a bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in journalism and a master's in sport administration from Mississippi State University. Erin also competed as a Division 1 SEC athlete as a four-year starting shortstop on the Mississippi State Softball team.
Prior to returning to her alma mater in her current role in early October 2014, Erin worked at CSE-- a major sports marketing and advertising agency in Atlanta, Georgia. Before joining CSE, she worked alongside ESPN's Senior Director of Communication at various events including the SEC Network Press Conference at the Georgia Dome, and the 2013 SEC Championship Football Game. She also worked in collaboration with the USA Women's Soccer communication team in their matchup with Russia in late 2013.
As a native of Acworth, Georgia, Erin graduated from Harrison High School. Daughter of Kim and David Nesbit, she is number two of five sisters: Courtney, Megan, Morgan, and Mallori. Courtney, 25, and Megan, 22, also attended and played softball at Mississippi State University.
Erin is a member of Women in Sports and Entertainment (WISE) and enjoys staying involved with several campus organizations, including FCA and Campus Crusade for Christ. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her best friend, Richie Brown, and watching him play football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. She and Richie are both active members of New Covenant Church in Starkville, Ms.
