Title: News Writer
While completing her bachelor's in communication/journalism and French minor, Sasha Steinberg wrote for the Office of Public Affairs on a part-time basis in 2014. Since graduating from Mississippi State, she has been producing news and feature stories for OPA as a full-time writer.
In addition to writing news for The Reflector campus newspaper during her freshman, sophomore and junior years, Sasha was a manager for the MSU track and field team during her freshman and sophomore years.
She also wrote news and feature stories for the St. Tammany News, a tri-weekly community newspaper, and Inside Northside Magazine, a bi-monthly community magazine, both located in Covington, Louisiana.
Sasha was a member of MSU's Society of Scholars, the top student academic group. She also was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and campus chapters of Lambda Pi Eta communication, Phi Kappa Phi academic and Pi Delta Phi French national honor societies, as well as the M-Club.
Sasha is a member of the Starkville-MSU Public Relations Association of Mississippi Chapter, the Public Relations Association of Mississippi, and the Southern Public Relations Federation. She has served in various leadership positions for the Starkville-MSU PRAM Chapter, including vice president for membership and vice president for communication. In 2017, she was named vice president for programs.
Sasha has been recognized at the local, state and regional levels for excellence in feature writing, including stories produced for the university's Alumnus magazine.
A native of Mandeville, Louisiana, Sasha is a graduate of Fontainebleau High School. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, attending Mississippi State athletic events, watching New Orleans Saints games and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys doing freelance writing for Town & Gown Magazine, a lifestyle publication in Starkville, Mississippi.
