Susan Lassetter joined the Office of Public Affairs as publications editor in 2015. In this role she will serve as editor of Alumnus magazine, working to share the success and activities of Mississippi State University in an informative and entertaining way.

Prior to joining OPA, Lassetter was publication manager of the Bagley College of Engineering where she coordinated the public relations and marketing activities of its Publications and Communications Office. She had previously served the college as publications editor and communications specialist.

Lassetter earned a master's degree in journalism from the University of Memphis in 2013. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in communications, with an emphasis in public relations and minors in broadcasting and marketing. As an undergraduate she gained experience by working with various communication professionals on campus such as Athletic Media Relations where she helped promote the university's teams. She also interned with University Relations, now OPA, as a student writer and the MSU Foundation as a student designer.

Lassetter is a member of several professional organizations including, the Public Relations Society of America, the Public Relations Association of Mississippi and the Southern Public Relations Federation. She has been recognized at the state and regional levels for excellence in communication.
